How Seeding Mercy WorksSeeding Mercy has been working in South Sudan since 2017. We are providing critical, lifesaving support and building the resilience among the smallholding farmers so they’re able to produce enough food for themselves. Seeding Mercy has designed successful model which increases crop yields to 80% and sometimes 100%. We believe by empowering smallholding farmers who are the world’s poorest, the fight against poverty can surely be won. This is the only sustainable model as opposed to aid which goes on indefinitely.
In our first year of operation, we did not only remove over 1,000 people out of poverty but provided a long-lasting food sustainability program to those we have admitted into Innovation Farm program. Starting with our innovation farms across the country, Seeding Mercy is reinventing how people relate to their resources while making them decision makers in the fight against hunger crisis rampaging their communities. We fed people. They in turn, feed their neighbors in a program called Feed Forward. |
Working together to Remove PovertyOur Mission is to eradicate hunger among smallholder families in sub-Saharan Africa by supplying farm inputs, training, and access to markets that enable farmers to increase production and income. |
Our Story
About the crisis in South Sudan
South Sudan has been a country in turmoil since its formation. As of today, there are over seven million people in need. In 1983, after a decade-long pause in the Sudanese civil war between the north and south, conflict broke out again. It wasn’t until early 2005 – after more than 1.5 million people had died – that a peace agreement was signed between the two sides. The agreement led to the historic vote that created the Republic of South Sudan on July 9, 2011, making it the world’s youngest nation.
We work with and for the smallholder famers in South Sudan. Our success is measured by the number of farmers who produce enough to meet their household needs. We envision a world in which having food on the table is a right and every family has the right to receive skills and resources to create wealth beginning from their farm.

Every Help Makes a Difference
We’re not saving farmers from hunger— we’re saving the world by educating farmers who are the providers of our food. This is the best way to eradicate global poverty.”
